Good morning,
Is this something you would like me to look into? Most of the
information we have received from them has been very good.

Thanks, Phil. I think this might be very worthwhile to attend. David?

To be honest, it all looks a little vacuous to me.
The “Critical Components of Effective Governance” reportedly will
grant further understanding on how to appropriately structure an
executive board. Through effective hiring practices to inter
departmental and staffing relations. The page is bereft of
particulars, however, leaving me to consider the points provided. Have
a quick look at that list of points they provide, it’s as though a
Marketing Coordinator with a casual, external understanding of the
role an executive plays just rattled off points as they came to mind.
Certainly, hiring practices and inter departmental communication are
key areas to focus on harboring efficacy, but they’re also obvious.
Just what does this seminar do that distinguishes itself?
Likewise, “Vital Facilitation Techniques” is described to be a
solution to everything yet nothing at all in particular. In these
challenging times, indeed, with difficult economic conditions, of
course, there are challenges in directing and facilitating board
conduct. There’s that bulleted list of skills attendees are expected
to learn, with yet again the appearance of a haphazard list of obvious
points; but now backed by the hint of what they offer to distinguish
themselves:
> “Thorough preparation, high-quality facilitation techniques, starting and
responsive questions, group dynamics and focus, as well as effective tools
for building consensus are key elements of this lively session.”
Um, what? I read that as: by coming appropriately prepared for your
audience and the motivating reason for forming interaction, and by
being an effective communicator whom is familiar with sophisticated
emotional concepts as reconciliation, collaboration and compromise;
attendees can expect to raise efficacy in <the list>.
Except, those tools should already be familiar to individuals at the
executive level. They’re necessary to be considered a qualified board
member in the first place!
So what distinguishes these people? Why do they deserve business?
I apologize if I’m a little harsh, but consider me wary of such consultants.

Why thank-you Steve, that’s much appreciated. I did put some time and
thought into reading their materials and constructing a helpful reply.
You did catch that I’m Dan Leslie, not David, correct?
Hope you’re well,
-Dan
